Socially Engaged Artist and Creative Producer

Aoife Concannon is a creative producer and an interdisciplinary artist based in North Co. Dublin.
My social art practice is primarily process led, and contains both symbolic and performative output, as well as workshop-based participation and co-creation.
I am a recipient of the Arts Council Agility Award in 2022 and 2024 for Arts Participation, and was a CREATE Artist in the Community in 2023 working with a young mothers group in Dublin city.
My durational project EveryBODY examined personal narrative through the physical bodily experience using storytelling, mark-making and alternative explorations of (self) portraiture. Through funding from Arts Council Ireland and as a Create Artist in the Community the work developed into explorations of the maternal experience, working with groups of perinatal women exploring their bodily experiences through somatic practice, testimonial and writing, and visual interpretations of experience.
My own visual art practice is in Painting (largely abstract or expressive painting) and Photography.
My work moves between representational and abstract, with colour, texture and mark-making frequently taking precedence. I work in oils, acrylics and mixed media, including natural materials.
Aside from my own practice, I also work with organisations and artists as a Creative Producer bringing huge enthusiasm for collaborative process, creative vision and industry knowledge, as well as a range of practical, logistical and production skills and experience to any cultural project.
